Using UGC

User-generated content is created by people for people. Brands and organizations take advantage of this concept by widely sharing their content before producing their own. UGC allows for brands to share real stories about their products, allowing their audience to see an authentic experience.

Although user-generated content is more successful with Instagram, it can be used across all social media platforms. In order to entice members to join our Facebook group I could share members photos from their favorite memories.

I would create a prompt in my group to encourage my members to post and share. Since my group is made to bring Penn State alumni together, UGC would be a create way for people to share their own stories about their experiences.

To find user-generated content to share in my group I would scour the platform for users who have “Penn State” in their about page but also live in the Louisville/Kentucky area.
